Background and evolution of the Psylution Worx philosophy - Symbolism through association
Dragonfly Symbolism
Dragonflies, or damselflies, were connected to Freya the Norse goddess of love, fertility and warfare. Freya was famous for her beauty and her knowledge as a magician. The paired bodies of mating dragonflies form the shape of a heart, perhaps being the source for that modern symbol of love. In ancient lore, the dragonfly represents transformation, adaptation and insight.
Dragonfly is the power of light. The dragonfly inhabits two realms: air and water and the influence of both these elements will be felt by Dragonfly people. They will be emotional and passionate during their early years (the influence of water) and more balanced with greater mental clarity and control in as they mature (the influence of air).
The dragonfly symbolizes going past self-created illusions that limit our capacity to grow and change. Their colours are a result of reflecting and refracting light and are reminders that we can also reflect the light of others and let our own light shine.
Symbolism through colour
Green
Earth mother, physical healing, abundance, fertility, tree growth, hope, personal goals, renewal, youth, stability, endurance, freshness, nature, environment, tranquil, refreshing, quiet, health, healing, good luck, vigour, growth, harmony, responsiveness, generosity, safety, love, joy.
Green lowers blood pressure, relaxes the nervous system, calms and soothes the mind, stimulates creativity, and is an appetite suppressant. Green is easy on the eye and can improve vision. Images set in green backgrounds seem farther away. Green is popular in most cultures.
Purple
Purple is the colour of good judgment. It is the colour of people seeking spiritual fulfillment. It is said if you surround yourself with purple you will have peace of mind. Purple is a good colour to use in meditation.
Purple has been used to symbolise magic and mystery, as well as royalty. Being the combination of red and blue, the warmest and coolest colours, purple is believed to be the ideal colour.
